Show Your Yahoo Messenger ID on Blogs and Websites
August 22, 2008
If you want to be closer to your visitors why not let them contact you and have a chat? This is different from email because you get an active interaction.
Some companies even use this kind of method to provide a cheap and effective customer service. How? They show their customer service’s yahoo id on their web. So, when a visitor want to ask, complain, or what so ever they can just chat live with the staff. Pretty neat, right?
Yahoo now provides 17 options of pictures to show everyone if you’re online or not. You might notice this kind of icon in your Yahoo email. It’s that yellow smiley icon next to a yahoo email address. Basically, it’s pretty much the same.
All you have to do is paste this code and add it into the HTML/JavaScript widget in your Blogger or paste it in your web HTML.
<a href=”ymsgr:sendIM?IDYahoo”>
<img border=0 src=”http://opi.yahoo.com/online?u=IDYahoo&m=g&t=1” /> </a>
Change the IDYahoo to your own yahoo id and you might want to change the parameter on t=1. You can pick one of these icons, below:
Or you can pick these bigger and funnier icons
Have fun!
