Delete Blogger NavBar

May 31, 2008

You see it by default for all blogger blogs. There is a navigation bar on top of your blog. The reason to delete this navigation bar is because it takes space on the blog and not to mention they are on the top of your posts.

It also have flag button to mark your blog as spam. What if someone is evil enough to present you lots of flags? The next blog button can make your visitor gone and navigate away from your blog. So I don’t think there is a good reason to keep it, except it provides searching abilities to your blog. But hey… just put adsense searching box and you can make money too :D

Here is a simple script to remove it:

All you have to do is edit your blog template in html mode and paste these code after your <head>: tag and you’re done.

#navbar-iframe {
display: none !important;
}

Blogging for Money or Just The Fame?

May 29, 2008

I guess every thing relateds to blogs have been gaining popularity more and more and I don’t know when it’s gonna reach a stagnation. I’m hoping not in sometimes around :p

The blogosphere in getting larger and larger and so does the companies that support blogs, like blog providers, blog engines, company that provides ads for blogs, company that meets blogger with company who wants a review, like reviewme.com, etc.

This is might seems popular right now, but only a few doing it right and really thinks this really works, not just some scams. Survival to the fittest :p To think that blogging or any kind of online activities can also make you money is a point. Many bloggers already done that, like problogger.net. Well one simple and effective way to avoid all those scams is when you think the program is just too good to be true, just say goodbye. No pain No gain. That’s all I can say.

When you see some famous blogs you can tell the content is what really matters. Some of them even don’t have any kind of design and just playing it simple and clean. But that doesn’t mean that design is not an important aspect. Blog is a media so the content is VIP. Because it’s a media it can really effect people just like tv and other media. So the content is the one that making all that money. It’s funny not all of them is real writer and they can beat real writer in earning. It’s not easy to live with a writer’s paycheck. Like many artists little will succeed and it takes the right writing to make a hit.

As a media that means you can use your blog to promote anything. From yourself, your house, your books, your company, your works, even other sites, other products, etc. As long it’s a good content anyone will read it and even thinking buying the products you’ve mentioned. That’s why having great contents can get you money from ads and reviews.

What I am trying to say is that you can choose to blog for money and fame at the same time. Since your money is coming from your fame (but you still can stay anonymously if you prefer to). However it’s gonna be hard on you if you choose to blog for money without the fame.
